Zither Australia Publications are currently offering 2 CD and album packages; the albums have musical arrangements for zither players. If you don't require the albums the CDs can be bought separately.

1. 20 Great Zither Duets

For their 20th anniversary, together with Ilse's two sons (both professional musicians) they recorded a CD "Great Zither Duets" with 20 of their favourite duets, and also published the pieces in a print album. The duets are popular pieces and range from easy beginners' tunes; perfect for the beginner to play the melody, to more challenging and technical pieces which are also suitable for ensembles.

All 20 pieces as played on the original CD are now printed in two separate books; one for Zither I and one for Zither II.

2. Great Folk Songs from around the World

This album and CD is a collection of 39 folk songs showing many different music styles but always with an authentic feel for the music of the various countries.

The aim of this book is to have you playing lots of familiar tunes, especially if you are a beginner. We believe that playing an easy, simple tune well will build confidence and lead to learning more challenging pieces.
 
This book comes with a CD featuring Johanna and Ilse on zither backed by a band of professional musicians. It provides the opportunity for YOU to experience playing along with a real live band.

This is an opportunity to play along with a real live band.The backing tracks have been recorded by professional musicians in precise metronome tempo with an authentic feel for the musical styles of the different countries. The zither melodies have been written in the easiest possible keys, with chord symbols and lyrics.

Neu für Zither Spieler Die Möglichkeit mit einer richtigen "live band" zu spielen.Die "backing tracks" wurden von professionellen Musikern aufgenommen, in genauem Metronome Tempo, mit authentischem Gefühl für den Musikstil der verschiedenen Länder. Die Zither Melodien sind alle in ganz leichten Tonarten geschrieben mit Akkordsymbolen und Lieder Texten.

1) Play-along
The aim of these publications is to help the beginning zither player learn to play easy familiar tunes in many different styles. To hear what the song sounds like and at what tempo it is played. Playing lots of familiar tunes builds skill and confidence and leads to playing more challenging pieces.  

2) Learn
i     try to play the melody line only
ii    try to play only the bass line
iii   play melody and add a single bass note to the  first beat of each bar
iv   play melody and add bass note and chord.

3) Perform
When you have learnt a few pieces well you might want to arrange a little solo recital for family and  friends featuring YOU playing along to the CD. It will sound good and people will enjoy listening to it.
 
Or you might find other musicians to play with. The pieces have guitar chords and the melodies can be played on accordion, violin, banjo, ukulele,  recorder, flute etc.
 
The Folk Song Album has lyrics and 2 part harmony for singing.
This Album can also be used to play clarinet duets.
